Working with Schools: Parents of Children, Teens with ADHD

Together, we will look at how you can work with your school to get the best outcomes for your child.   We will work through strategies you can use to build a positive relationship with your child's classroom teachers and the rest of the staff involved in supporting you and your child.  We will examine the common school processes for schools supporting students with additional needs, including ILPs (individual learning plans) and PBSs (positive behavioural support plans).  Finally, we will go through what you can do when things go wrong, and you need to advocate for your child more forcefully, and what the disability standards say about the school's obligations to you and your child.
